Changelog
New features and improvements to Deadunlock. Looking for Deadlock's game patch notes? They're on Patches.
September 15, 2026
- NewProgression now offers hero-specific focuses for Vindicta, Mo & Krill, Grey Talon, Bebop, Apollo and Viscous. Your match journey shows the ability results that count toward your focus.
September 15, 2026
- FixedMatch reports now keep defensive advice consistent with the damage that actually mattered, avoid guessing why you pressed an item, and no longer recommend a cleanse after Curse has locked your items.
- FixedHighlight clips now have their sound in step with the picture. Every clip filmed so far had the audio running about 0.7 seconds ahead of the video — you heard the hit before you saw it. Clips filmed before this fix keep the old timing until they are refilmed.
September 2, 2026
- ImprovedClip share pages now show just the video. A share link is only offered once a clip actually plays, and a link to a clip that is not ready simply says there is no clip here.
- ImprovedHighlight recording now tells you where your clip is — queued (and how many are ahead), waiting for the replay to parse, filming and which step, or retrying at what time — and says plainly why a clip could not be filmed instead of a one-size-fits-all failure. The record button also surfaces sign-in, rate-limit and paused notices on the replay map, and a shared clip link opened mid-recording now turns into the clip on its own.
- ImprovedMatch reports now name the item that answers an enemy's kit, like Knockdown against Vindicta, instead of a generic resist.
- FixedHighlight clips now film the player you asked for. The replay's player bar reorders itself once the match starts, and the recorder was picking a spot before that happened, so some clips followed a teammate instead.
September 2, 2026
- ImprovedClips are less than half the size they were, so shared links load faster on mobile data.
- FixedHighlight clips now play in every browser — clips could show a blank frame with sound in Firefox and on some desktop setups, and now use a format every browser and phone can play.
- FixedThe highlight camera now locks onto the right player when their name contains accented letters.
September 1, 2026
- ImprovedHighlight clips are about 40% smaller at the same visual quality, so they load and share faster.
- ImprovedHighlights are ready about 3 minutes sooner after recording.
- FixedHighlight clips are no longer whisper-quiet — clip audio is now normalized to standard shorts loudness.
August 29, 2026
- ImprovedHighlight recording is now a closed alpha: everyone who already recorded keeps full access as an alpha tester (with a direct feedback line in the Highlights tab), while we grow capture capacity before opening it wider. Watching and sharing clips stays open for everyone.
August 28, 2026
- ImprovedHighlight clips now have sound — the real game audio from the moment, recorded live with the replay.
August 27, 2026
- NewHighlights: record any player's best moment straight from the match page — pick a player tab, hit Record, and the capture box films it from the actual replay as a phone-ready vertical short.
- NewShare any highlight with a public link: hit Share on a clip and send it to anyone — no account needed to watch.
- FixedThe highlight camera now locks onto the right player even when their name is very short.
August 24, 2026
- ImprovedA big accuracy pass on match reports: clearer stat tables (self-healing split from ally healing, who killed you and with what, the match's damage leader), correct move-speed units, and item advice that respects what each item actually does.
- ImprovedAbandoned matches are skipped instead of analyzed, so you no longer get advice about a game that never really happened.
August 6, 2026
- NewYou can now leave feedback directly on your Progression page.
- FixedCounter suggestions no longer recommend items that can't actually answer the threat you're facing.
- FixedReports now use each hero's correct pronouns.
August 1, 2026
- NewReal ranks, straight from Valve: profile cards show your actual ladder badge instead of an estimate, each match remembers the rank it was played at, and the match list can filter ranked from unranked games.
- FixedRank names follow Valve's renames of tiers 3 to 7 (Ritualist is now Mystic, and so on).
July 31, 2026
- NewProgression (beta): a per-hero improvement tracker with a Performance score, your match journey, personal bests, and a Focus system that gives you one thing to work on and scores every attempt.
- ImprovedThe coach now delivers a short, spoken-style recap instead of a bulleted report.
- ImprovedThe analyzer's game knowledge now refreshes itself within hours of every Deadlock patch, so advice is grounded in current item and ability numbers.
July 27, 2026
- NewPersonalized analysis: tell the analyzer what you want it to look at, and re-analyze a match whenever your interest changes.
July 22, 2026
- NewThe 2D match replay is now available to everyone, on any match.
- NewWe answer your feedback: a red dot on the inbox icon in the nav tells you when a reply is waiting.
- ImprovedReports now notice AFK or disconnected players instead of judging them like active ones.
July 20, 2026
- NewSpot something wrong in a report? Tap the flag on any finding or on the summary to tell us.
- ImprovedWhile your match is being prepared you now see each processing step, an elapsed timer, and an expected wait.
July 18, 2026
- NewA brand-new landing page with live previews of the analyzer, replay, and match chat. Signed-in visitors go straight to the analyzer.
July 15, 2026
- NewThe Dashboard: a pin-board of match charts. Ask for a chart in match chat, pin it, arrange your own layout, or start from the chart library and guided tour.
July 12, 2026
- NewMatch chat is open to everyone, no sign-in needed (guests get hourly limits).
- NewPrivacy policy and legal pages, plus a 90-day retention limit on personal chat data.
- ImprovedLinking your account is easier: the companion bot now sends the friend invite, you just accept it.
July 11, 2026
- ImprovedCleaner match list: hero names get more room, stats line up in tidy columns that never shift, and a compact badge marks Street Brawl games.
- FixedStreet Brawl matches are no longer analyzed like a standard game — the analyzer skips them instead of giving misleading advice.
July 8, 2026
- ImprovedSharper, more detailed match analysis: reports are now built from real replay data, with more accurate fight reconstructions, item and damage attribution, and stats reported only at the precision we actually have.
July 4, 2026
- ImprovedRedesigned the Match Analyzer around a cleaner app layout — a sidebar owns picking the match while the report takes the main column, with Overview and Build tabs and a decluttered match page.
July 2, 2026
- NewSign in with Steam — a sign-in button and profile menu now live in the top nav.
- NewTrack your feedback: a My feedback view, shareable links to a saved analysis, and a feedback form on the About page.
June 29, 2026
- ImprovedSharper match analysis: item advice is now grounded in your actual damage output, lane and map callouts read in plain language, and counter suggestions are tied to the damage you're really facing.
June 19, 2026
- ImprovedThe Match Analyzer now fact-checks and corrects its own report before you see it — far fewer wrong item names, stats, or made-up details.
June 10, 2026
- NewPick from your recent matches in the analyzer instead of typing a match ID.
June 8, 2026
- NewAdded a community banner linking to the r/deadunlock subreddit.
June 7, 2026
- NewThe Match Analyzer is now public and front-and-center: the site opens on it, and the Deadlock patch notes moved to /patches.
- NewYour analyzer runs are saved automatically, and you can leave feedback on any analysis.
- ImprovedThe coach got a personality — a playful roast that calls you by your in-game name.
- FixedFixed a batch of UI issues: the browser-tab favicon, the match roster overlapping on mobile, and Steam search missing less-active players.
May 31, 2026

April 25, 2026
