Deadunlock is a community-run Deadlock companion — patch notes, a hero tier list, and a per-match analyzer. This page explains what we collect, why, who else touches it, and how to reach us. Plain language, no dark patterns.

What we collect

  • When you sign in with Steam. We receive your public Steam ID from Steam's sign-in and store it to identify your account. We create a placeholder login for you internally; we never ask for or receive your Steam password or email.
  • When you run the analyzer. We use your Steam account ID to fetch your public recent match history from the community Deadlock API, and store the resulting analysis so it loads quickly next time.
  • When you use Match Chat. The questions you type are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate answers (see below). We save your recent conversation for a match so you can pick it back up — stored against your account and deleted after 90 days.
  • Operational logs. For each analyzer or chat request we log a small usage record — your account ID, IP address, timing, and token/cost counts — to run rate limits, catch abuse, and keep the service within budget. The identifying parts (your IP and account ID) are removed after 90 days.
  • Analytics cookies. If you accept the cookie banner, we use privacy-friendly product analytics to understand what's working. No session recordings, no ad networks, no selling of data. Decline and none of it runs. We also store a couple of small preferences in your browser (your cookie choice, which patches you've seen) — those are functional and always on.

Who processes your data

We keep the vendor list short and prefer EU-hosted services:

  • Supabase — database and authentication.
  • OpenRouter — routes Match Chat and analyzer prompts to the AI model that writes the answer.
  • PostHog (EU) — product analytics, only after you accept cookies.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery.
  • deadlock-api.com — the community source for public match data.

A note on Match Chat and AI

Match Chat answers are generated by an AI model, which means they can be incomplete or wrong — treat them as a helpful second opinion, not fact. Because your messages are sent to a third-party AI provider to produce the answer, please don't include personal or sensitive information in them.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account and associated data. Sign out any time from the profile menu. For access or deletion requests, reach us through thefeedback form on our About pageand we'll take care of it.
